I'm Meg Wiley, the one-woman band behind WhatTheFluffe. I draft the patterns  source the materials, design, sew it all, coordinate with customers, ship the products, create social media and marketing materials, and so much more! This whimsical little clothing brand was born out of a passion for wacky color and texture combinations that I just couldn't seem to find anywhere else, and a strong desire to create a joyful and exciting custom coat experience.

I began this journey in 2021 after I realized that I needed a simple fluffy neck/shoulder piece to complete my outfit - but I wasn't sure how to make it! I became obsessed with pattern making, watched countless YouTube videos, and ordered all sorts of books to learn the art of pattern drafting. At the time, I was working as a Software Engineer in San Francisco, but as my passion for sewing and fashion design grew, I realized that my true calling lay in crafting unique and personalized festival clothing.

I believe that fashion should not only reflect your personality, but it should also make you feel like an even more extraordinary version of yourself. What you wear should make you feel jaw dropping, otherwise, it isn't working! I aim to offer products that will give make you The Moment every. single. time.

As for my customs work, remember that when you choose a made-to-order WhatTheFluffe item, you're not just purchasing a coat, a skirt, an accessory, or whatever else; you're embarking on a collaborative journey with me. I deeply value the relationships and friendships I form with my customers as we work closely together to make something incredible. I want to understand your vision and translate them into your favorite one-of-a-kind creation. From selecting the perfect colors and textures to ensuring the right fit, every detail is carefully considered to make your dreams a reality when we begin a custom together. <3
