FAQs

1. Do you accept payment plans?

Yes! Customers may use Klarna on the checkout page, or ShopPay to pay with a debit card in monthly installments. Additionally, you can email me whatthefluffeclothing@gmail.com/send me a DM on Instagram (@whatthefluffe) to see how a payment plan can be accommodated outside of the checkout flow.

If you are interested in a ready-to-ship item and would like to set up a payment plan through me directly, and it has been listed for at least 7 days already, I request an initial payment of 40% of the total item price, including tax and shipping if applicable. The rest of the order can be paid off within 3 months in whatever payment cadence you prefer. All payments are nonrefundable, and the item will not be shipped out until the final payment is made. Payments can be made via Venmo PayPal, or Zelle for domestic sales, and international sales use Wise (TransferWise). Missed payments without notice will result in a cancellation of the payment plan and the item will be relisted.

If you are interested in a payment plan on a custom, the nonrefundable booking fee of $40-65 is still required upfront. For the rest, you can make payments in whatever cadence you prefer for as long as you'd like. For example, I've had a customer pay $25 every other week for a year, and we are finally working on her order! Materials are ordered once you have paid up enough to cover the material costs. I start sewing/cutting after the second to last payment is made, and I ship after the last.

If you are interested in a payment plan on a made-to-order listing (non-custom), we can personalize the payment plan with as many as 12 payments as low as $50.

2. How do customs work?

 3. How do the backpack straps work?

I permanently install 1" D rings into the shoulder and side seams (4 total). I make adjustable size straps with swivel clasps that clip into the D rings. You may remove the straps entirely if you want to, but the D rings stay in permanently and are also really great for clipping in keys, cups, phone, etc with a carabiner.

4. How do I wash my coat/Fluffe/hood?

Since all my pieces are made with different materials, there is not one-size-fits all answer. You will have to use your best judgment, but in general, NOTHING I make should go into the washing machine. Always hand wash with detergent with cold water and lay flat to dry.

For FAUX FUR pieces: Hand wash with detergent and cool water. Pat and squeeze to dry the fur. It will look bad and matted while wet! Do not panic. The BEST way to keep it fluffy is to let it dry for a while, and when the fur is about 80% dry, use a blowdryer on low heat and BRUSH it until fully dry. I always brush my fluffy pieces before and after use to keep it looking fresh!

Here are my brush recommendations:

Straight fur: Dog slicker brush Curly fur: Wide-toothed paddle brush

5. What is your current wait time?

Last updated: 5/1/26

Current wait time: 4-6 weeks for smaller items (hats, hoods, shirts), 10-15 weeks for coats

This changes based on the season and my availability, but can range up to 20 weeks during busy times. Coats are always on the longer end of that estimate (especially around the holidays), versus neck shawls + skirts on the shorter end. For a clearer estimate, send me a message, and check the "last updated" date above ^.

8. Why are your prices so high?

This is my full-time job. All of my pieces are priced as such: materials at exact cost, plus exactly how much time the piece took me to make multiplied by my hourly rate. This means that all pieces are priced fairly for the amount of work put into them. I do not outsource any of my work. I sit in my cute little studio each day and make magic for you. When you buy a piece from me, you are buying a quality, one-of-a-kind piece that has been made with love and high attention to detail. Each item I make is my BABY for the full process and it is treated with care. Thank you for the support!
